Ethical & Cultural Competence Training:

Working Successfully with Arab & Muslim Clients

Given the growing population of Muslims in Western societies and the current global political and social climate, it is imperative that we develop a better understanding of the mental health needs of our friends, neighbors, clients and employees who come from Middle-Eastern or Muslim backgrounds.

That's why I provide a thorough training on the subject

This training isn’t just for counselors and therapists – it’s informative and useful for agencies, schools and employers as well. Originally crafted to educate mental health and addiction professionals on best practices and ethical considerations when working with this population, my program has also been useful for other organizations seeking to incorporate a higher level of cultural competency, sensitivity and awareness into their operations.

I spent my young life as an American growing up in Israel and Lebanon.

These years gave me an intimate and intrinsic understanding of Middle-Eastern, Muslim and Arab cultures, as well as partial fluency in Arabic. I draw on these experiences and refer to current research on the topic to bring unexpected insights and understanding to what is often a misunderstood segment of people. My goal is to help clarify misconceptions and promote understanding of these vibrant, beautiful and important cultures.
